Many of you may not have ever played or heard of HL2RP. HL2RP is a fun gamemode that is like DarkRP, but its set in the HL2RP timeline. HL2RP is a SERIOUS roleplay, meaning, you don't play to make money, or get items, its not a RPG. Its a RP.
The rules of HL2RP are very serious. Have you heard of OOC chat from DarkRP? That means out-of character. In other words, its talking about stuff as people behind the characters. In IC chat, you work hard to pretain to your character's mind. Are you being held up by a man with a gun? What would your character do if he was in that situation? What would you do?
Have a idea of doing something, that needs more detail added? /me is a useful command.
/me is a useful ingame command. It appears like this.
Pretend /me is your name, you would type it like this-
/me clutches his head to express the stupidity of the situation.
IT would appear as-
Bobby Joe clutches his head to express the stupidity of the situation.
Frequent uses of the command /me are often what separate good RPers from bad ones.
NLR.
NLR is much more serious in HL2RP. You have a friend you've met in the game? If you die in any way, and it is not a character permanent kill, you MUST follow NLR. NLR means you have to depart from your friend, as if you never knew him. You may remeet of course, but it is suggested this is not done by METAGAME.
Metagame.
If there is a secret passage to the location of a gun, would you take it?
No, you don't know about the passage. Or at least, your character doesn't.
This is easily known.
Civil Protection/Combine Civil Authority/Metropolitan Police Force
These guys are the most crooked cops you will ever see, but they aren't punished for it? Many of the new ones are still emotional, but if you see a high ranking unit, you better duck and cover. Hostage situation? Shoot through the hostage to shoot the person with the weaponry. These guys keep law and order, but its all a facade. They are the most brutal policing force ever. And your character will be afraid.
Loyalists
These guys are the suck-ups to the combine, they are often treated with greater care, not beaten, and not brutally fought with. They usually carry request devices to reach the combine if they spot uncivil activity, so watch out for these guys if you are planning to rebel. Being a loyalist does have its advantages, and is a good character option for someone whom you might want to evolve into a MPF unit, City administrator, or a CWU worker.
Rebels
Don't join and yell,"CAN I BE A REBEL?!".
Lolwebuls are not the best either, citizens who show a lack of FearRP for police are often termed lolwebuls. To become a rebel, you often have to have a well developed character and be a good roleplayer.
Rebels are the combine's first priority. Don't follow them around, you may be grouped with them.
THe amount of rebels is lower than you think, most of them are part of a RESISTANCE, which, is entirely different.
Resistance
These guys do not fight back against the combine, merely resist the UU food they are fed, or other things. These guys may cultivate their own food, and commence in UPI(SEX), which is illegal in the combine universe. Don't worry though, the suppression field makes sure you can't have children. Some of these guys are armed with weaponry, most of them are not. If they have weapons, they merely use them to flee. To resist the combine's force. You still have to ask yourself, "Would my character want to be this?" Being a loyalist or even a normal citizen tends to be more fruitful than this approach, but if your character's morals surpass this, congratulations.
There is alot more to cover than this, more in depth guides can be found if you still want to stick to the community, although you will have to learn alot of this for yourself. Good luck, citizen, and perhaps one day you might do something great.
