Chapter 1:
Prologue
Vasil Polansk Vorchevsky, was born in July 8th, 1984, in Volgograd, Russia. He lived with his Mother, Zula Dasnik Vorchevsky, his Father, Aleksandr Krakr Vorchevsky, and his brother and sister, Zak Posikna Vorchevsky and Tanya Agnesse Vorchevsky. He grew up hearing stories about Stalingrad(The old name for Volgograd), and the battles between the Soviet Russians, and the Nazi Germans. The destroyed building's that were still left as a former ghost of that battle, approved the stories. When he was 12, his Mom died while she was walking in an alleyway, she was brutally beat to death, then mugged. He went into despair, his father became an alcoholic, and started drinking Vodka, and other drinks. It then escalated to drugs, and when he Vasil was 17 and a half, his father died from a drug overdose and a high level of drinking. His older brother who was now 19 and his younger sister who was 9 at the time, were the only ones left. Vasil and his brother decided to sell the house so they could have money to stay somewhere for a while and still have money. They all moved into an old apartment down in the bad parts of the city, sadly, the place they moved into had to be entered by the same alleyway their mother had died in. He got older and then it happened...

And so it was, BMRF(Black Mesa Research Facility), was under attack. Not much had happened that day, it wasn't until later, the day after, the day that the Resonance Reversal was put into effect. That was it. Portal like features were appearing in the sky, every once in a while, the portal would explode and create a ripple effect, almost like an Earthquake. These storms were bringing creatures called Anlions, Houndeyes, Headcrabs, Bullsquids, and other Xenian creatures were dropped through the portals. These storms were dubbed "Portal Storms". During this time, Vasil had been keeping watch on the TV, of course he had gone to bed that night, not knowing what would happen tomorrow. He woke up to the sound of a crash...or was it a bump...or an explosion. He didn't know, but he knew it wasn't normal. He got up to see a blue thing in the sky, that appeared to be getting smaller...no it was getting bigger, it was fluctuating. He heard a sound, almost like a...whipping, sound. "Whip Whap", he screamed as the Poison Headcrab jumped at his head, he quickly dodged it and stared in shock for a few seconds before coming to his senses and dodging another attack quickly. He ran for the door....it was locked, the Headcrab was already jumping at him before he had time to unlock the door. He ducked, literally a millisecond before he would have been the Headcrabs next victim. He ran for the kitchen, he picked up a knife, but in the confusion he dropped it and it landed, right smack in his foot. He yelled in pain, just as the Crab jumped for his head he heard a loud "BANG, BANG, BANG", 3 gunshots. The Headcrab was on the floor, weird juices were coming out of it, he looked forward. There his brother was, holding a pistol. He asked his brother "How...no, why, do you have a gun?" his brother responded with "I found it on a soldier, don't worry, he was already dead when I found him." the obvious question of "Did you kill him?" came out of Vasil's mouth, his brother said back "It doesn't matter and...no, I did not." Vasil said back "Well what about-", as his brother interrupted him, his brother said "I'm sorry to tell you....Tanya, our sister, is....dead.". Vasil froze, as everything in his mind, faded away. But that didn't last long as all the sudden.... ZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPP! Then....BOOOOOOOOOM! Explosions rocketed everywhere, gunshots were fired, and then...blackness. It had all happened so quickly, but he would understand later.
Chapter: 3
The Fight
Almost a Decade later....
Vasil was staring at a picture of his sister, it had been a while, but the memories never went away. He stared through the perimeter of the gates around Moscow, the soldiers wouldn't let him leave, due to the fact that the creatures, dubbed "Xenians", were out there. Then he heard a "BOOOM", as another Portal exploded, sending a few Headcrabs right next to them. His brother came up behind and shot a few of the Headcrabs, then moving over to allow a group of soldiers to finish off a nearby Vortigaunt, and the remaining Headcrabs. His brother was wearing a Russian Army uniform, his brother tossed him a Kevlar Vest, and a suitcase. His brother told him to put on the Russian Army uniform that was in the suitcase, and the Kevlar. Vasil quickly slipped on the heavy pants, Combat Boots, Combat Gloves, ski mask, helmet, jacket, and then finally, the Kevlar Vest. He followed his brother to the Armory and his brother told him to grab a Primary Weapon, 2 Secondary Weapons, a knife, a few grenades, and a bunch of ammo. He grabbed an AK47, an M9, a Five-Seven, 2 M67 Fragmentation Hand Grenades, 1 Smoke Grenade, 1 Flash Grenade, and a backpack full of ammo clips for his guns. He walked out and heard the yelling of the words "Catch!", he quickly reacted and caught a flashlight in midair. His brother walked over and handed him an ACOG Sight attachment, and a red laser attachment. His brother grabbed a flashlight holder attachment, and attached it to the gun, snatching the flashlight from Vasil. Vasil sighed as his brother attached the flashlight, ACOG sight, and red laser to the gun. His brother then told him "You, me, and a group of other soldiers, are heading to a Zombie, and Headcrab infested Outpost, we expect that there are survivors, but there are no confirmed reports, be ready, the ride, and fight will be rough, for sure.". Vasil told him "Let's go!" and they headed out. The armored transport vehicle took them on a bumpy ride before they were stopped, the back opened up and a soldier said "The roads blocked ahead, we have to continue on foot.", the soldier then yelled "Everyone out!". Vasil, his brother, and 4 other soldiers jumped out, the soldier that was yelling before told the driver to head back to base, and tell the commander to be ready for a backup call, as in this case they would need helicopter extraction. They walked for a half of a mile before setting down their stuff and taking a rest. They got up after 10 minutes of a rest, and they kept on moving. It took them another hour before they got to the base. The base was in ruins, you could see dead soldiers everywhere, you could hear the noises of Headcrabs, and the screams, moans, screeches, and roars of the zombies. The leader of the group of 7 soldiers, told Vasil, and his brother, to head into the base, and to radio in when they knew the danger level. They sighed and then walked through the front of the base, and almost immediately, he heard the screech of a zombie and then..slash, a shooting pain went straight up his back, he tried to look behind him but at the moment, he was falling, there was a thud...then blackness.
Chapter 4:
Seven Hours
His ears were ringing, everything he looked at was blurry....come to think of it, he had no eyesight in one eye for some reason. He woke up, he saw his brother, and the soldiers shooting at the Zombies, he sat there, wondering if they even knew he was alive still, or had they forgotten about him? "HEY! Hes awake!", his brother and 2 soldiers ran over to him, as the other soldiers shot, and fought off the last of the visible Zombies, Headcrabs, and other creatures. He was lifted up to hear his brother say "Your...eye.", he felt his eye...it was bleeding, and swollen shut. He knew it, his eye was a goner, at least he still had vision in one eye, then he thought, maybe its temporarily swollen shut...maybe it will un swell and I will see again, or it could be a permanently blind eye, he thought of the bright side instead. Then he realized he was being yelled at..."GRAB THE GUN, NOW!", so he obviously looked down to the sight of his AK47. He grabbed it and looked around, then he saw a Zombie with a bunch of black Headcrabs on him, he looked closer...Poison Zombie. He yelled "RUN!", all the soldiers looked, and they saw a soldier right next to it. "Whip...Whap!" the Headcrab went, and the soldier was on the ground, with a Headcrab crawling up his body, Vasil had the shot, but it was too late. The soldier screamed, then the screams got quieter, then silence. All the soldiers shot at reflex, his brother yelled "Stop! Stop! I SAID STOP!" the soldiers stopped after a while, but the fallen soldier was already shot up too bad. They all ran for a building, they barged in right as a pack of Fast Zombies jumped off a building roof literally 10 yards away from the building they entered. The door was metal, so there was no chance of any Zombies getting in, but of course the Zombies were hitting the door, to no avail. They all took a deep breath and well, they saw the worst sight ever, the room was full of at least 10 of each Zombie type, normal, fast, and poison. They all shot randomly, a few Zombies fell but it did more harm than good. They saw an exit, they all ran for it as one of the soldiers behind them fell to the ground, they all ran out, hearing the screams of death from the fallen soldier. Well, they got out, but the sight they now were about to see, was much worse than any group of Zombies. "BOOOM!!!", another portal storm...but this time, it wasn't only the creatures, it was....something else. Out came something...weird, it was an alien craft...but it was shooting, they all watched in utter shock. Then the shots were closer, closer...then closer, then "AHHHGGG!", his brother fell to the floor, bleeding from the leg. Vasil rushed over to him, along with another soldier, the rest of the soldiers shot at instinct. Well....it wasn't any minor bleeding, Vasil wondered "Where is his leg?", but....it was just a stump? How could this be? Well, his leg was blown off by the Gunship. But...of course, it wasn't long before the other soldiers were on the ground, then he saw the soldier next to him, get up and shoot. The soldier was shot, ragdolled, and surely dead. As Vasil got up, he was shot one time in the chest, as he fell, a weird alien soldier came to his side, knocking him out with the butt of his....his...gun? He had no idea what it was, but it surely knocked the wits out of him. Out cold, blackness.
Chapter 5:
City 28, Hell on Earth.
Shhhhhkkkkkkk.....SWOOSH. Vasil flew down the alpine mountains, laughing as he gazed at the wonderful sight. Of course, it would of looked better without Combine control, but it was enough for times like these. But then he heard a dropship, it passed above him, dropping soldiers farther down. Vasil quickly stopped and radioed in "Spotted a Dropship...its dropping a pack of soldiers down by the old souvenir shop and-....oh no...," another Dropship passed. "Were doomed".
3 Months Earlier:
Cachunk....Cachunk....Cachunk...SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!!!! Vasil walked off the train, smelled the Switz air, then threw up. What had the Combine done to do this? Well, they had turned all of the good buildings like the Swiss bank, into a Combine base and factory. As he walked through, he was quickly processed, normally. Of course, he didn't use his real ID. In reality, he was the notorious leader of Rykers Raiders, his nickname was Ryker.
The air smelled like a dead body but the sky was blue somehow. Vasil didn't care, he just kept on going, walking on, and on, and on, until he found the spot he needed. It was a blocked off building, no one went in there anymore. The Resistance had hid in there, but the Combine quickly captured and executed the group inside. It stayed under Combine watch for a week or two, but that was 3 years ago. Now it's just boarded up, with no one watching. Vasil pulled out a hidden hammer, used it to pull out the nails of a board, and he walked through. As he opened the door, he quickly turned and put the board back on, then slammed the door right as an APC ran by. The house smelled of smoke and ashes.
